Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Saturday inaugurated the state-level conference of Emergency Blood Service and Ray of Life at Nazrul Kalakshetra. Addressing the gathering, the Governor urged citizens to become more aware of the importance of blood donation and to consider it a social responsibility and moral duty.
He said that in times of accidents and medical emergencies, the critical requirement of blood for seriously ill patients can only be met through voluntary blood donors. Emphasizing the need for greater participation, he called upon people from all sections of society to come forward and donate blood voluntarily.
During the programme, the Governor also released a souvenir titled Jiban Jyoti. National Health Mission Managing Director Saju Vahid A, Director of the GA (P&S) Department Ratan Biswas, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and others were also present.
