Nation Pays Tribute to Martyrs of 2001 Parliament Attack

The nation on Saturday paid tribute to the security personnel and civilians who lost their lives defending Parliament during the terrorist attack on December 13, 2001, as the country observed its 24th anniversary.
Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Jitendra Singh, Kiren Rijiju, and Arjun Ram Meghwal offered floral tributes to the martyrs at Parliament House.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, along with several Members of Parliament, also paid homage to the fallen heroes.
The 2001 Parliament attack is remembered as a defining moment in India’s fight against terrorism and a symbol of the bravery and sacrifice of the nation’s security forces.
