Assam Police files 3,500-Page Chargesheet in Zubeen Garg Death Case


The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police has submitted a 3,500-page chargesheet before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Guwahati, in connection with the death of acclaimed singer Zubeen Garg.

The case was initially registered by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under sections pertaining to criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and causing death by negligence. As the investigation progressed, the SIT added charges of murder to the case.

Garg died on September 19, 2025, after losing consciousness while swimming during a yacht outing in Singapore. His death prompted a multi-agency probe, eventually leading to the formation of the SIT.

So far, seven individuals linked to Garg’s final trip to Singapore have been arrested. Police officials said further investigation is underway.
