Agartala Airport Boosts Passenger Support Amid IndiGo Flight Cancellations

Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala has taken extensive measures to manage the disruptions caused by cancellations of IndiGo flights between 29 November and 9 December 2025.

During this period, a total of 39 IndiGo flights were cancelled, resulting in inconvenience to a large number of passengers. Airport authorities, however, have been working round-the-clock to assist all affected travellers.

To handle the increased passenger load, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) team at Agartala arranged additional seating areas both inside and outside the terminal building. Enhanced sanitation measures were put in place, including intensified cleaning of washrooms. Drinking water stations, along with snacks and beverages, were made available, and food outlets were instructed to remain open until the departure of the last flight. They were also directed to maintain adequate supplies and ensure that prices remained unchanged.

According to IndiGo, baggage delivery for all impacted flights has now been completed. Refunds for cancelled flights have also been processed up to 9 December 2025.

IndiGo’s On-Time Performance (OTP) had been affected during the disruption, but the airline has been maintaining 100% OTP at MBB Airport since 7 December 2025. Additionally, an extra flight to Delhi is being operated today, 10 December, to accommodate stranded passengers. All other airlines at the airport continue to operate normally.

AAI teams at MBB Airport are coordinating closely with all stakeholders to restore normalcy and ensure smooth passenger movement. The airport has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting travellers and maintaining passenger convenience during this period of operational challenges.
