Dec 10, 2025
US-based tech giant Amazon has announced that it will invest $35 billion in India by 2030, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s digital and economic growth. The announcement was made by Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President for Emerging Markets, at the 6th edition of the Amazon Smbhav Summit in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Agarwal said the investment aligns with Amazon’s growth strategy and supports the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat. He noted that the initiative is expected to create one million additional jobs, including direct, indirect, and seasonal roles.
The company plans to channel the investment into expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities, strengthening logistics infrastructure, and boosting opportunities for small businesses across India.
The announcement comes shortly after another major US tech company, Microsoft, pledged to invest over $17 billion to advance India’s AI infrastructure, skills development, and sovereign capabilities.
