CM Dr. Manik Saha Accelerates Development and Public Welfare Initiatives

Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha reaffirmed his government’s commitment to education, women’s empowerment, and overall development while inaugurating the newly constructed Sonamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office on Tuesday. The event was attended by Ministers Kishore Barman and Sukla Charan Noatia, MLAs Tafazzal Hossain and Bindu Debnath, and TTAADC member Padmalochan Tripura.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts in addressing social issues such as child marriage and teenage pregnancy through the ‘Mission Sankalp’ campaign, noting positive outcomes in the Sipahijala district, which had been historically neglected.
He also emphasized the government’s focus on accelerated development, announcing the inauguration of 14 key projects and the laying of foundation stones for three new initiatives, with a total investment of approximately ₹50 crore. Projects include new healthcare facilities, school buildings, staff quarters, and student hostels, reflecting the administration’s commitment to both social welfare and infrastructure development.
CM Saha highlighted the success of the ‘Amar Sarkar’ programme, which delivers government services directly to citizens, and pointed out that Tripura currently ranks second in the Northeast in GSDP growth. He also underscored the state’s progress in women’s empowerment, with over 54,000 self-help groups and 1.08 lakh women achieving financial independence as “Lakhpati Didis.”
Ministers Kishore Barman and Sukla Charan Noatia praised the simultaneous inauguration of multiple development projects and reaffirmed the government’s focus on tribal development, education, and improving infrastructure across the state.
Inaugurated Projects: Kamalnagar PHC and staff quarters, Melaghar SD Hospital OPD, 50-bed minority girls’ hostel in Boxanagar, new school buildings at UNC Nagar SB School, Melaghar English Medium School, Nawadwip Chandra Institution HS, Padmalochan Choudhury Para HS School classrooms, Block PHUs at Boxanagar and Dhanpur PHCs, Nayanjala Gram Panchayat building, Tehsil offices at Khedabari and Kamrangatali, Ayutthan Arogya Mandir, and PM-SHRI Sekerkote HS School.
Foundation Stones Laid: New Community Health Centre at Kathalia, RCC footbridge over Gomati River at Kamrangatali, and expansion of Kamalnagar PHC.
