India Beat Wales 3–1 in Junior World Cup Qualifier
Dec 08, 2025The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team defeated Wales 3–1 in their 9/16 position qualifier at the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup in Santiago, Chile.
India struck early through Hina Bano in the 14th minute, followed by a second goal from Sunelita Toppo in the 24th to secure a 2–0 lead at halftime. Ishika added a third just a minute into the second half, extending India’s dominance.
Wales pulled one back in the 52nd minute through Eloise Moat, but India’s disciplined structure and persistent high press ensured a comfortable victory.
With the win, India move on to face Uruguay in their next classification match on December 9.
