Amit Shah Targets 20% Income Boost for Cattle Rearers

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday announced that the Central government aims to raise the income of cattle rearers by 20% in the next five years through the adoption of a circular economy model in the dairy sector.

Shah made the announcement while addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a Bio-CNG and fertiliser plant of Banas Dairy and laying the foundation stone for a 150 TPD Milk Powder and Baby Food Plant.

He praised Banas Dairy’s successful circular economy model—where dairy waste is converted into Bio-CNG and organic fertiliser—and said the government plans to replicate this approach across dairies nationwide to enhance farmers’ income and improve sustainability.

Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to “White Revolution 2.0”, centred on four priorities: the National Gokul Mission, Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development, the National Animal Disease Control Programme, and revamped dairy development initiatives.
