Nationwide Disruptions Hit Agartala as IndiGo Cancels Multiple Flights
Dec 05, 2025
Air travel plans for hundreds of passengers were thrown into disarray on Friday after IndiGo cancelled multiple flights from Agartala’s Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, in line with a wave of cancellations reported across several airports nationwide. The sudden disruptions created confusion and frustration among travellers, many of whom arrived at the airport only to learn that their flights would not operate.
According to reports, passengers began gathering at the airline’s helpdesk early in the morning seeking clarity on the situation. Several travellers said that they received no prior intimation regarding the cancellations, forcing them to scramble for alternative arrangements. Some passengers were seen arguing with airline staff, while others expressed disappointment over the lack of timely communication.
“I reached the airport two hours before my flight, and only then did I find out it was cancelled,” one passenger said. “There were no proper updates. This has caused major inconvenience for me and many others.”
The unexpected cancellations also caused long queues at the rebooking and refund counters, with passengers reporting delays in receiving information about compensation or alternate flights. Elderly passengers and families with children were particularly affected as they waited for assistance.
Many passengers in Agartala echoed this concern, saying the disruption had caused them professional and personal setbacks. As the situation continues to unfold, passengers have urged IndiGo to strengthen its communication channels and provide clearer updates to avoid similar chaos in the future.
