India and Russia on Friday signed multiple agreements covering defence, trade, economy, healthcare, academics, culture, and media during the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.
Addressing a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the visit comes at a time when bilateral relations are reaching historic milestones. “In the last ten years, despite global ups and downs, India-Russia ties have stood the test of time,” he added.
The leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in urea production and adopted a programme for strategic economic cooperation up to 2030. Modi also recalled that President Putin had laid the foundation of the India-Russia strategic partnership 25 years ago, which was elevated to a Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership in 2010.
