India Thrash Namibia 13–0 in Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup


India made a commanding start to their campaign at the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup in Santiago, Chile, defeating Namibia 13–0 to go top of Pool C. Hina Bano and Kanika Siwach led the scoring with hat-tricks, while Sakshi Rana struck twice. Binima Dhan, Sonam, Sakshi Shukla, Ishika, and Manisha added a goal each.

Led by Jyoti Singh, India share Pool C with Germany, Ireland, and Namibia. Earlier in the day, Germany registered a 7–1 victory over Ireland. India will next face Germany tomorrow before concluding their pool stage against Ireland on Friday.

In the Junior Men’s World Cup in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India will take on Switzerland in their final Pool B match on Tuesday at 8:00 PM IST. Both teams are unbeaten with two wins each, though India sit atop the table owing to a superior goal difference.
