India Assures Continued Support to Sri Lanka after Cyclone Ditwah


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of India’s continued assistance under Operation Sagar Bandhu as the island nation intensifies rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts following Cyclone Ditwah.

During a telephonic conversation on Monday, Mr. Modi reaffirmed that India, guided by its Vision MAHASAGAR and its role as the region’s First Responder, will extend all necessary support in the coming days. He noted that India stands ready to assist Sri Lanka as it restores public services and works toward rebuilding livelihoods across the affected regions.

President Dissanayake expressed deep gratitude for India’s swift deployment of rescue teams and relief materials, conveying the appreciation of the Sri Lankan people for New Delhi’s timely and effective response.

Mr. Modi also offered his condolences for the loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the cyclone.
