CM Dr. Manik Saha Urges Collective Action to Build an HIV-Free Tripura on World AIDS Day

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday called for united and sustained efforts to eliminate stigma and strengthen the fight against HIV/AIDS as he attended the state-level World AIDS Day programme at the MBB Playground in Agartala.

Addressing participants, Dr. Saha stressed that building a healthier and safer Tripura requires collective responsibility. “Together, we can break the stigma and support those affected by HIV/AIDS,” he said, urging every citizen to contribute to awareness and prevention efforts.

He underscored the importance of sensitising school and college students, noting that timely awareness can significantly reduce the spread of the disease. Teachers and social organisations, he said, must work hand in hand to educate young people and communities at large.

The Chief Minister also highlighted various steps taken by the state government to strengthen screening and diagnostic facilities, reaffirming Tripura’s commitment to early detection, prevention, and community support in the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS.
