Nov 29, 2025
Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday described an extraordinary morning at the foothills of the Jampui Hills in Kanchanpur, where mist and mellow sunlight seemed to signal new possibilities for the farming community.
During his visit to Karnojay Para under Subhash Nagar and Dainchhara Village Councils, the Minister joined farmers Jyotirmoy Das and Dhananjay Das in planting potatoes using the Advanced Ridge Cultivation (ARC) method. He said the experience underscored the deep connection between people and the soil, noting that the ARC technique represents not just an improved agricultural practice but also a new chapter of confidence for potato growers.
Nath emphasized that “when farmers prosper, the state prospers,” reaffirming the government’s commitment to empowering cultivators across Tripura. He expressed hope that this initiative would encourage many more farmers—from Kanchanpur to Karbook—to adopt modern cultivation methods and nurture the state’s growing agricultural ambitions.
The Minister added that the introduction of ARC-based potato cultivation is expected to boost productivity and open doors to better livelihood opportunities for local farmers.
