Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has extended heartfelt gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu for releasing the Indian Constitution translated into nine regional languages listed in the Eighth Schedule, including Nepali. The release was part of the 76th Constitution Day celebrations, observed under the theme “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman.”
Calling the initiative a historic milestone, Tamang said the availability of the Constitution in multiple regional languages would significantly strengthen inclusivity and promote India’s rich linguistic diversity. He added that this effort will enhance citizens’ access to the nation’s guiding document, enabling people from varied linguistic backgrounds to connect more deeply with its principles and values.
Tamang also noted that the mention of Sikkim during the prestigious national event was a moment of immense pride for the people of the state. He expressed sincere appreciation, on behalf of the Government and people of Sikkim, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for what he described as a visionary and momentous step toward greater national integration and accessibility.
