Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated Skyroot Aerospace’s new “Infinity Campus” through video conference and said India’s space sector is rapidly emerging as an attractive destination for global investors.
Addressing the event, the Prime Minister said the government has undertaken several historic reforms that have opened the space sector to private participation, enabling startups and industries to collaborate closely with India’s scientific ecosystem. He noted that the global space economy is expected to expand significantly in the coming years, creating tremendous opportunities for young innovators in the country.
Mr. Modi said that over the past six to seven years, India has transformed its space architecture into an open, cooperative and innovation-driven ecosystem. Today, more than 300 space startups are contributing new energy and confidence to India’s space ambitions, he added.
Describing Skyroot’s Infinity Campus as a reflection of India’s “new thinking, innovation and youth power,” the Prime Minister said the nation is scaling new heights through its risk-taking ability, creativity and entrepreneurial strength.
Mr. Modi also praised ISRO, acknowledging its decades-long role in propelling India’s space journey. He said ISRO’s credibility and capability have helped India secure a distinct place in the global space arena.
