Union Minister Jual Oram Begins Grassroots Review of Tribal Development in Tripura
Nov 25, 2025
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram arrived in Agartala on Tuesday afternoon to launch an intensive, ground-level assessment of tribal development across Tripura—signaling a shift from routine reviews to a more hands-on evaluation of challenges in the state’s most remote regions.
Oram was received at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport by Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma and senior officials of the State Tribal Welfare Department. Skipping the usual series of preliminary meetings, the Minister is set to head straight into field visits, underscoring the Centre’s growing focus on real-time monitoring of welfare initiatives.
During his visit, Oram will examine the implementation of key central schemes and development projects aimed at uplifting tribal communities. His schedule includes travel to several tribal-dominated and hilly areas, where he will directly interact with residents, local leaders, and ground-level workers.
Special attention will be given to assessing progress in education, healthcare delivery, road connectivity, and livelihood generation—sectors considered critical to narrowing development gaps in remote pockets of Tripura.
