India Clinch Second Consecutive Women’s Kabaddi World Cup Title

India secured their second straight Women’s Kabaddi World Cup crown with a commanding 35–28 victory over Chinese Taipei in the final held in Dhaka. The defending champions delivered a composed and dominant performance to retain the title.
India entered the knockout stage in top form after sweeping all four of their group-stage matches. They continued their momentum in the semifinals, defeating Iran 33–21 to book their place in the final.
Chinese Taipei, who topped Group B with an unbeaten run and overcame hosts Bangladesh 25–18 in the semifinals, put up a strong fight but were ultimately outclassed by the clinical Indian side.
This year’s tournament featured 11 participating nations, with India and Chinese Taipei emerging as the standout teams throughout the competition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the squad on their 2025 World Cup triumph, praising the players’ grit, determination, and skill. He added that the team’s achievement would inspire young athletes across the country to dream big and pursue excellence.
