Sanjeeda Shaikh Joins Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna in Netflix’s High-Octane Action Thriller Ikka
Nov 23, 2025Actress Sanjeeda Shaikh has been roped in for the upcoming Netflix action thriller Ikka, starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna. The film is directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, who has previously helmed successful projects like We Are Family, Hichki, and Maharaj.
Ikka promises to be a standout addition to the OTT space, featuring Deol and Khanna in parallel lead roles, marking their first collaboration in 28 years since the war drama Border (1997). While early reports speculated that the film might be a remake of Hollywood’s vigilante thriller Death Sentence, both Deol and Malhotra confirmed that the project would be an original story with a fresh and unconventional approach.
Netflix has invested heavily in the project, aiming to combine star power with contemporary action storytelling. Sanjeeda Shaikh joins the cast at a time when her co-stars are attracting attention both professionally and personally. Sunny Deol, who was last seen in Jaat, is also preparing for upcoming films Border 2 and Lahore 1947, while spending time with his father, Dharmendra, following a recent health scare.
