Israel Says It Killed Five Senior Hamas Figures After Ceasefire Breach
Nov 23, 2025Israeli forces killed five senior Hamas operatives in Gaza on Saturday, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, after accusing the group of violating the ongoing ceasefire.
According to Netanyahu’s office, a Hamas militant crossed into Israeli-controlled territory and attacked IDF soldiers, prompting the targeted operation. “Israel has fully honoured the ceasefire, Hamas has not,” the statement said. “We again call on mediators to insist that Hamas fulfill its side of the ceasefire.”
The Israeli military said the operation was guided by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) with support from the Air Force. The IDF described the targeted individuals as senior members of Hamas involved in cross-border attacks, and added that additional militants were killed or captured during a 24-hour manhunt in Gaza’s underground network.
