CM Dr. Manik Saha chairs review meeting on Agartala’s Transport System

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Monday chaired an extensive review meeting on the existing transport system of Agartala city at the War Room of the Tripura Institute for Transformation (TIFT). Senior officials and stakeholders from relevant departments attended the discussion.

The meeting focused on identifying key challenges affecting urban mobility and exploring strategies to make transportation across the capital city smoother, safer, and more efficient for commuters. Issues related to traffic management, infrastructure gaps, and long-term mobility planning were examined in detail.

Officials also presented proposals for the planned development of Battala Market and the corridor from Gol Bazar to Netaji Chowmuhani—two critical commercial and transit zones within the city. The presentation formed part of the broader review of Agartala’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP), which aims to guide future urban transport and infrastructure initiatives.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for coordinated action and sustainable planning to improve the daily travel experience of citizens and support Agartala’s growing urban needs.
