Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi Warns Pakistan, Says Operation Sindoor Was “Just a Trailer”
Nov 17, 2025
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi issued a strong warning to Pakistan, stating that India is fully prepared to counter any form of aggression or terrorism. Speaking at the curtain raiser event of the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi, the Army Chief said that Operation Sindoor—which concluded in three hours—was “just a trailer,” and that India is ready for any future contingencies.
General Dwivedi highlighted a significant decline in terrorist activity in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that 31 terrorists have been neutralized so far this year, of which 61 percent were Pakistani nationals. He added that the situation on the ground has improved substantially, with no stone-pelting incidents or sloganeering being reported in recent months.
Reiterating India’s firm stance against terrorism, the Army Chief said, “Those who promote and sponsor terrorism will be given a befitting reply.” He cautioned Pakistan against indulging in any misadventure, asserting that the Indian Armed Forces are fully capable of teaching the neighbouring country “how to behave responsibly.”
General Dwivedi stressed that state-sponsored terrorism remains a major concern for India, a nation focused on progress and development. Reaffirming India’s long-standing position, he said, “Water and blood cannot flow together, and talks and terror cannot go hand in hand.”
He also announced that the third edition of the Indian Army’s flagship international seminar—the Chanakya Defence Dialogue—will be held in New Delhi from November 27 to 28. This year’s theme is “Perform to Transform: Sashakt, Surakshit aur Viksit Bharat.”
