Mass Diabetes Screening Drive Marks World Diabetes Day in Agartala


A large-scale diabetes detection and free blood sugar testing camp was organized in Agartala on World Diabetes Day, bringing vital healthcare services directly to local residents. The initiative was conducted by the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura in collaboration with Bharat Ratna Sangha, with support from the Department of Health, Government of Tripura. The event took place at the Bharat Ratna Sangha club premises.

Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder formally inaugurated the programme in the presence of former MLA Dr. Dilip Das, Dr. Pradip Bhowmik, Club Secretary Chandan Chakraborty, and other dignitaries.

In his address, Mayor Majumder emphasized the state government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector, noting significant improvements in medical facilities and overall health infrastructure across Tripura in recent years. He also praised Bharat Ratna Sangha for its continued social service initiatives and its role in promoting community welfare.

The camp saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, many of whom took advantage of the free diabetes screening and awareness services provided during the event.
