India to Host South Africa for Two-Match Test Series from Tomorrow at Eden Gardens
Nov 13, 2025
In men’s cricket, India is set to host South Africa for a two-match Test series beginning tomorrow at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The series marks another key chapter in the ongoing 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
The Indian team, led by Shubman Gill, will look to continue their impressive home form following a 2–0 clean sweep against the West Indies earlier this season. India currently sit third in the WTC standings and will aim to strengthen their position with another series win.
South Africa, captained by Temba Bavuma, enter the contest with confidence after securing a 1–1 draw in Pakistan last month. The reigning world champions will be eager to test themselves in subcontinental conditions once again.
India began their WTC campaign with a 2–2 series draw in England, followed by the home victory over West Indies. Reflecting on the importance of the upcoming series, Team India’s Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate said, “This series is a very big step for India in getting to the WTC final next year.”
