In a significant recognition of its reform-oriented governance, Tripura has been conferred the ‘Top Achiever Award’ in two business-centric reform areas — Business Entry and Labour Regulation Enablers — under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2024.
Sharing the achievement on social media, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed pride over the honour, noting that Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, presented the award to Tripura’s Industries & Commerce Minister, Smt. Santana Chakma, during the national event in New Delhi.
“This recognition reflects the growing confidence of investors in Tripura’s reform-driven ecosystem,” Dr. Saha said. “With continued focus on ease of doing business, the State has already signed MoUs worth over ₹15,000 crore across key sectors such as industry, health, education, IT, power, and tourism,” he added.
Accepting the award on behalf of the state, Minister Santana Chakma held discussions with Shri Piyush Goyal on strategies to accelerate industrial growth in Tripura by leveraging its strategic location, skilled workforce, and business-friendly policies.
She emphasized Tripura’s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” vision, highlighting the government’s focus on infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and market access.
“This milestone underlines Tripura’s transformation into an emerging investment hub of the Northeast,” Chakma remarked, assuring that the state would continue to build a conducive environment for industries and entrepreneurs alike.
