Emraan Hashmi Teases Fans with Exciting Update on Awarapan 2
Nov 07, 2025Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, known for his intense romantic roles in films like Jannat, Gangster, and Awarapan, has sent waves of excitement across social media with news about the long-awaited sequel, Awarapan 2.
The original Awarapan (2007), in which Emraan portrayed Shivam—a man who sacrifices everything for love—has remained a cult classic over the years. Fans of the film have celebrated it in various ways, including getting tattoos inspired by the story.
After months of speculation, Emraan Hashmi confirmed that he will begin shooting for the sequel next month. Speaking about the project, he said, “I think I’ll be shooting for it. And yeah, it’s shot some really intense scenes. It’s got crazy music, it’s got fantastic, intense scenes. I’m not telling you anything right now; you’ll discover it when you see the film.”
The actor also revealed that the idea for Awarapan 2 has been in development for almost six years. “Back then, I asked, ‘How can you bring back Shivam?’ because he dies in the original. But in 2022, my friend Bilal came up with a script that fits perfectly and takes the story forward,” he explained.
