India’s Rathika Suthanthira Seelan continued her fine run at the NSW Open Squash Tournament, advancing to the semifinals with a straight-game victory over local contender Karen Bloom on Friday.
The 24-year-old from Chennai, seeded second in the PSA Challenger event, produced a dominant display to defeat Bloom 11-8, 11-7, 11-4 in just 22 minutes. Rathika’s sharp movement and precision hitting kept her Australian opponent under constant pressure throughout the match.
With this win, Rathika has secured her place in the last four, where she will face the winner of the quarterfinal clash between England’s Emily Whitlock and Australia’s Sarah Cardwell.
The NSW Open is part of the PSA Challenger Tour and serves as a key preparatory event for players aiming to improve their world rankings and gain valuable international exposure.
