IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms across Northeast India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted spells of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across parts of Northeast India, particularly in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on Wednesday.

The IMD warned that squally winds reaching speeds of up to 55 kmph are likely to prevail over the Andaman Sea, parts of the east-central Bay of Bengal, the Myanmar coast, and areas of the northeast Bay of Bengal.

Authorities have been advised to remain vigilant as the adverse weather conditions may cause temporary disruptions in transportation and outdoor activities. The IMD has also urged fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea during this period due to rough conditions.
