Massive Fire Erupts at Udaipur Banduar Power House, Panic Among Residents

A major fire broke out at the transformer repairing room of the Udaipur Banduar Power House on Tuesday, sparking widespread panic among local residents. The blaze, which is believed to have caused extensive damage, sent plumes of smoke into the sky and forced several people in the nearby areas to evacuate their homes temporarily.

According to fire officials, the incident was first reported to the Udaipur Fire Station around noon. Acting swiftly, Officer-in-Charge Jiban Sarkar rushed to the spot with one fire engine. As the flames intensified, two additional fire engines from Udaipur and one each from Kakraban and Palatana TPC were deployed to assist in the firefighting operation.

In total, five fire tenders worked relentlessly for nearly one and a half hours to bring the situation under control. No casualties have been reported so far, but the extent of property damage is yet to be assessed.

OC Jiban Sarkar said the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. “Preliminary reports suggest that the blaze started in the transformer repairing room, but we are looking into all possible causes,” he added.

The incident created chaos in the area as residents feared the fire might spread further. Many were seen rushing out of their houses to safer places. The fire was finally contained after a strenuous effort, allowing residents to breathe a sigh of relief.
