In a bid to strengthen the bond between the armed forces and the youth, the Assam Rifles organised a weapon display and demonstration for the cadets of the 13th Tripura Battalion NCC on Thursday at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel in Agartala, as part of the celebrations for NCC Day 2025.
The event aimed to familiarise cadets with modern military equipment and motivate them to consider careers in the defence services. The display featured a wide range of infantry weapons and tactical gear currently used by the Assam Rifles. Cadets were given detailed briefings on each weapon system and also witnessed live demonstrations, offering them valuable first-hand exposure to military operations.
A total of 277 cadets, including both boys and girls, participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Their active involvement and curiosity reflected a strong sense of patriotism and interest in serving the nation.
Officials from the Assam Rifles said that such initiatives are part of the force’s ongoing efforts to promote youth development, defence awareness and national pride. “These outreach programmes help bridge the gap between the armed forces and the civilian population, especially the younger generation who represent the future of the country,” an officer remarked.
The event concluded with an interactive session, during which cadets shared their experiences and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about the nation’s defence apparatus.
