Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury reviews preparations for ‘Unity Promo Fest 2025’

With a vision to position Tripura prominently on the global tourism map, the state tourism department has been taking several initiatives to strengthen infrastructure and attract more visitors to the state’s scenic and cultural destinations.

Building on the success of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest in recent years, which has significantly boosted tourist interest, the department is now set to organize the ‘Unity Promo Fest – 2025’. Like previous editions, the festival aims to promote Tripura’s natural beauty, heritage, and hospitality—but this year, it will expand to include two new locations.

For the first time, the festival will be held not only across major tourist spots but also at Udaipur, the sacred town known for the Mata Tripurasundari Temple, and at Belonia in South Tripura district. The Belonia edition of the Unity Promo Fest will be a two-day event, designed to bring the celebrations closer to people from all corners of the state and highlight the tourism potential of South Tripura.

In connection with the upcoming events, two separate preparatory meetings were held on Tuesday, one at the Gomati District Magistrate’s Office in Udaipur, and another at the Dak Bungalow in Belonia.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has chaired both the preparatory meeting, and reviewed the arrangements and emphasized the government’s commitment to developing modern tourism infrastructure while promoting sustainable and community-driven tourism.

The Udaipur meeting was attended by Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumder, along with senior officials including the Additional District Magistrate, Additional Superintendent of Police, the Director of Tourism, and other departmental officers.

At Belonia, the meeting saw the participation of South Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati, MLAs Pramod Reang and Swapna Majumder, the Tourism Secretary, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and senior officials from various departments.

Minister Chowdhury stated that the Unity Promo Fest 2025 will serve as a platform to celebrate the state’s unity in diversity while showcasing its immense tourism potential. He urged officials and local bodies to work together to make the festival a grand success and ensure that the benefits of tourism development reach every region of Tripura.
