TripuraToday Web News Portal Celebrates “Sharad Samman 2025” with Grandeur

The festive spirit of Durga Puja continued to shine bright in Tripura as TripuraToday Web News Portal hosted its annual “Sharad Samman 2025” on Tuesday evening at Sukanta Academy, Agartala.
The event was inaugurated by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the evening. Distinguished guests included Chairman of the Society of Management Nabendu Bhattacharjee, Ratan Ghosh Chairman of Gomati Dairy. They were warmly felicitated with traditional shawls and floral bouquets by Ankita Roy of the TripuraToday family.
The program opened with a melodious Rabindra Sangeet performance by artists from Koelia Sangeet Shiksha Kendra, followed by a graceful Ganesh Vandana dance by Prabah Dance Academy.
Bapi Roy, the founder of TripuraToday and a veteran photojournalist with over 32 years of experience, expressed pride in continuing this annual initiative that blends journalism with social commitment.
The evening featured a series of captivating cultural performances. A special highlight was the performance by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs 2022 participant and Aakash Aath (2025) winner Sneha Shil, Tripura’s own rising singing star. Adding to the cultural richness, tribal dancers from the state showcased the traditional Cheraw Dance — the iconic bamboo dance of Mizoram.
Renowned local artists including Suman Banik, Biswajit Palit, and Siddha Roy also mesmerized the audience with their soulful performances. Singer Suman Banik paid a heartfelt tribute to Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg through his songs.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of Sharad Samman Awards, recognizing the best Durga Pujas across several categories: Best Puja (Overall): Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Club, Best Idol: Bharat Ratna Sangh (Usha Bazar), Best Social Commitment: Red Lotus Club & Pararthe Social Organization, Best Pandal : J.P.C. Club, Best Illumination: Flower’s Club, Best Infrastructure: Smriti Club, Best Eco-Friendly Puja: Athletics Club (Resham Bagan), Best Low-Budget Puja: Mouchak Club and Best Theme Message: Sanghati Club.
Mayor Dipak Majumder handed over the trophies to the winning clubs amid thunderous applause.
In his closing remarks, Bapi Roy reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to celebrating art, culture, and social service every year. “TripuraToday will always stand by the people of Tripura and continue such initiatives that bring the community together,” he said.
