CM Dr. Manik Saha launches ‘Samriddhi’ initiative to empower rural women

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday launched ‘Samriddhi’, a new initiative under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of creating Lakhpati Didis. The launch took place at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.

The initiative aims to empower women of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in rural Tripura, providing them with financial support and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, marking a significant step towards a developed Tripura (Viksit Tripura).

During the event, bank loans amounting to Rs 198.63 crore were sanctioned for SHG members, and Rs 100 crore was released as a Community Investment Fund, aimed at supporting rural women entrepreneurs in the state.

The launch of ‘Samriddhi’ underscores the government’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment and grassroots development, providing a platform for rural SHG women to achieve financial independence and social recognition.
