PM Modi Distributes 51,000 Appointment Letters, Launches ‘Viksit Bharat Yojana’ to Create 3.5 Crore Jobs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that employment fairs have become a key medium for fulfilling the aspirations of India’s youth. The Prime Minister made the remarks in a video message at the 17th National Rozgar Mela, held in New Delhi.

During the event, more than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited candidates across various government departments and organisations under the ongoing Rozgar Mela initiative. Since the launch of the initiative in October 2022, over 11 lakh appointment letters have been issued to young people across the country.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi also launched the ‘Viksit Bharat Yojana’, a new national programme aimed at providing 3.5 crore employment opportunities for the youth in the coming years.

Emphasising the government’s commitment to empowering young citizens, Mr. Modi said that India has been moving forward with the resolve to build a Viksit Bharat for the past 11 years, with the youth playing a pivotal role in this journey.

The Prime Minister also highlighted several initiatives supporting skill development and job creation, including the Steel India Mission, the National Career Service (NCS) platform—which has listed over seven crore job vacancies—and the Pratibha Setu portal designed to connect talent with opportunities.

Mr. Modi further stated that India’s foreign policy is also being shaped with the youth in mind, incorporating provisions for training, upskilling, and employment generation in global partnerships.

He reiterated that India’s youth represent the nation’s greatest strength and are central to the government’s vision of achieving a developed India by 2047.
