CM Dr. Manik Saha Visits GB Hospital, Orders Stern Action after Brutal Attack in Dhalai
Oct 24, 2025Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday morning visited GB Pant Hospital in Agartala to enquire about the health condition of three persons who were critically injured in a brutal attack at Shantirbazar under the Surma Assembly constituency in Dhalai district.
The Chief Minister spoke to the injured persons’ family members and officials of the Tripura Civil Service Association, assuring them that the state government would ensure strict action against those responsible for the incident.
According to reports, on Thursday night, a group of Tipra Motha workers, allegedly acting under the banner of the ‘Civil Society of Tripura,’ carried out a premeditated and violent attack in the Shantirbazar area. The victims—Abhijit Majumder, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Salema Block; Animesh Saha, an engineer; and Subrata Pal, a local businessman—sustained serious injuries in the assault.
Initially, the injured were admitted to Kamalpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, but as their condition deteriorated, the Chief Minister directed officials to immediately shift them to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala for better treatment.
Condemning the incident, Dr. Saha said, “The government will take the strictest possible action against those involved in this barbaric act. No one is above the law. The law will take its own course.”
