AMC to honour best durga pujas across four zones on October 25


The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) will organize its annual Sarad Sanman ceremony on October 25 at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. This year, 21 clubs from across the city will be honoured in various categories for their outstanding Durga Puja celebrations.

Announcing the event at a press conference held at the AMC Conference Hall, Mayor Deepak Majumder said that, as in previous years, awards will be presented across four zones of Central, South, East, and North in categories such as Best Idol, Best Pandal, Best Illumination, and Best Theme. In addition, five clubs will receive “Best of the Best” awards.

In the Central Zone, Surya Toron Club will receive the award for Best Idol, Netaji Play Floram Centre for Best Pandal, Nabadiganta Club for Best Illumination, and Blood Mouth Club for Best Theme.

In the South Zone, Uddiyaman Sangha will be honoured for Best Idol, Milonchakra Club for Best Pandal, Aponjan Club for Best Illumination, and Bharat Mata Sangha for Best Theme.

In the East Zone, Sphulinga Club will receive the award for Best Idol, Ramthakur Sangha for Best Pandal, Shibnagar Modern Club–Amra Tarun Dol for Best Illumination, and Shatadal Sangha for Best Theme.

In the North Zone, Albert Club will be awarded for Best Idol, Shantikami Sangha for Best Pandal, New Star Club for Best Illumination, and Mahan Club for Best Theme.

Each of these clubs will receive a beautifully designed trophy and a cheque of ₹25,000. The “Best of the Best” awards will also be presented across categories: Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Club for Best Idol, Kunjaban Sporting Club for Best Pandal, Flowers Club for Best Illumination, Cosmopolitan Club for Best Theme, and Shibnagar Mahila Puja Committee as the Best Puja organized by women. Each of these clubs will be awarded a trophy and a cheque of Rs. 50,000.
