Special Trains Announced for Diwali 2025 Pilgrims Visiting Tripureswari Temple in Tripura
Oct 19, 2025In a move aimed at easing travel for thousands of devotees during the upcoming Diwali Festival 2025, the Northeast Frontier Railway has announced two special trains connecting key locations in Tripura to Udaipur’s Tripureswari Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in the region.
Minister of Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury shared the news on Sunday through a social media post, stating that the trains will operate on the following routes: Agartala – Sabroom – Agartala. Agartala – Dharmanagar – Agartala.
These special services are being arranged to manage the anticipated surge in pilgrim traffic to the Mata Tripureswari Temple during Diwali celebrations.
Minister Chowdhury expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for facilitating the initiative. He noted that the additional trains would provide significant relief and convenience for devotees traveling from different parts of the state.
“This step will ensure smoother and safer travel for pilgrims coming to seek the blessings of Mata Tripureswari during the auspicious Diwali festival. I sincerely thank our Prime Minister, Chief Minister, and the Railway Minister for their constant support towards the people of Tripura,” he wrote.
