Mayor Dipak Majumder Inspects Smart City Drain Work at Ashram Chowmuhani amidst Ongoing Obstacles

As part of the ongoing Smart City development initiatives, the construction of a modern drainage system in various parts of the city has been facing multiple challenges. To assess the situation firsthand, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder visited the obstructed work site at Ashram Chowmuhani on Friday.

During his inspection, Mayor Majumder expressed concern over the hurdles delaying essential urban infrastructure work. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the city’s development and stated that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure progress, even if that means taking legal action.

“To transform Agartala into a modern and sustainable city, certain steps are unavoidable. The government is determined to move forward with the required projects in the public interest. If anyone tries to obstruct the work, legal measures will be pursued,” said the Mayor while speaking to the media.

The Mayor’s visit comes amidst growing concerns about delays in key Smart City projects, including drainage and road improvements, which are crucial for addressing the city’s longstanding issues of waterlogging and poor urban planning.

Officials from the Agartala Municipal Corporation and Smart City Development team accompanied the Mayor during the visit.
