Sushanta highlights Tripura’s cultural and eco-tourism strengths at national conference

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday attended the two-day National Conference of State Tourism Ministers being held in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The event has been organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, to strengthen cooperation between the Centre and the States for promoting sustainable tourism, driving digital transformation, and highlighting India’s diverse tourist destinations.
The conference aims to deliberate on policies and collaborative strategies to position India as a leading global tourism destination.
Union Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister of Rajasthan Diya Kumari, along with Lieutenant Governors of various Union Territories, Tourism Ministers from all States, and senior officials from both Central and State Governments attended the conference.
During the event, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury held detailed discussions with Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, highlighting Tripura’s expanding tourism infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and vast eco-tourism prospects.
The Minister also met Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, exploring possibilities for collaborative tourism initiatives between the two states. He extended a formal invitation to her to visit Tripura and experience its scenic destinations and vibrant traditions firsthand.
Minister Chowdhury emphasized that Tripura’s diverse cultural identity, historical landmarks, and natural beauty present significant opportunities for sustainable tourism growth. He reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to aligning with the national vision of developing a world-class tourism ecosystem driven by innovation, responsible practices, and inter-state cooperation.
