Direct Air Service Between Agartala and Siliguri’s Bagdogra from October 26
Oct 13, 2025Good news for travel enthusiasts of Tripura. Those planning a trip to North Bengal’s popular destination Tiger Hill in Darjeeling will now have an easier and faster travel option. Starting from October 26, Air India Express is set to launch a direct flight service between Agartala and Bagdogra (Siliguri), eliminating the need for travelers to route through Kolkata or Guwahati.
According to airline sources, the 180-seater Boeing aircraft will operate daily on this route. As per the schedule, flight IX 2953 will depart from Bagdogra at 4:30 PM and reach Agartala at 5:40 PM. The return flight IX 2430 will leave Agartala at 6:10 PM and arrive in Bagdogra at 7:20 PM. Ticket booking for this new route has already started, and fares are reported to be within an affordable range.
However, while introducing this new direct connectivity between Agartala and Bagdogra, Air India Express will discontinue its Agartala–Guwahati flight service starting from October 26, as part of its winter schedule. Despite this change, IndiGo and Akasa Air will continue to operate flights on the Agartala–Guwahati route, ensuring continued air connectivity between the two cities.
