New Zealand Secure Commanding 100-Run Victory Over Bangladesh in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup

New Zealand clinched their first win of the ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup with a dominant 100-run victory over Bangladesh at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Friday night.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, New Zealand posted a competitive total of 227 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was anchored by composed half-centuries from skipper Sophie Devine and middle-order batter Brooke Halliday, who ensured stability after early breakthroughs by the Bangladesh bowlers.

In response, Bangladesh struggled to gain momentum and were bowled out for just 127 runs in 39.5 overs. The New Zealand bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, maintaining pressure throughout the innings and capitalizing on frequent breakthroughs to secure a comfortable win.

This result lifts New Zealand to fifth place in the tournament standings, with one win and two losses from their three matches. Bangladesh, still searching for their first win, now sit in sixth place on the points table.
