Manipur Global Buyers and Sellers Summit 2025 Begins in Imphal

The Manipur Global Buyers and Sellers Summit 2025 commenced on Friday at the City Convention Centre in Imphal, bringing together local entrepreneurs, international delegates, and regional industry leaders under the theme "Bridging Business Sans Borders."

The two-day summit was inaugurated by Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and is being held as part of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. The event is jointly organised by the Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur, the Manipur Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (MANIDCO), and the Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The summit witnessed enthusiastic participation from neighbouring countries such as Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Thailand, as well as representatives from Japan and various North Eastern states of India. It serves as a platform to foster cross-border trade partnerships, explore new markets, and promote Manipur’s unique products and innovations.

Local entrepreneurs and industries have set up a variety of stalls at the venue, showcasing the state's diverse indigenous offerings. Notable products on display include black rice, organic agricultural produce, handloom textiles, and handicrafts — all emblematic of Manipur’s rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

In his address, Governor Bhalla highlighted Manipur’s potential as a trade and innovation hub, stating, “The state represents a unique blend of natural abundance, creativity, and resilience. Our products reflect the ingenuity of our people and are now reaching both national and international markets.”

He further acknowledged the determination of communities across the state, including those recently displaced due to unrest, who have shown remarkable resilience by re-engaging in economic activities and contributing to the growth of the local economy.
