CM Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurates Two-Day Hojagiri Panda Festival at Santirbazar
Oct 09, 2025Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the two-day Hojagiri Panda Festival at Santirbazar, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Reang (Bru) community.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the invaluable contribution of the Reang (Bru) community in enriching Tripura's cultural landscape. He praised their traditional Hojagiri dance, a key part of the festival, as a symbol of the community's vibrant identity and artistic expression.
"The Reang community has always played a vital role in shaping Tripura’s diverse cultural fabric," said Dr. Saha. "Our government is fully committed to the welfare, development, and empowerment of this Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG)."
The festival, which showcases traditional dance, music, and customs of the Bru community, draws attendees from various parts of the state and aims to promote tribal heritage while fostering social unity.
Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, MLA Pramod Reang, South District Zilla Sabhadhipati Deepak Dutta, and other dignitaries were present.
