CM Dr. Manik Saha meets citizens directly in ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ programme


The 'Mukhyamantri Samipeshu' programme was held on Wednesday at the official residence of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, shortly after the conclusion of the Durga Puja festivities. The programme, designed to offer citizens a platform to directly communicate their grievances and seek assistance, once again showcased the government’s commitment to addressing public issues swiftly and compassionately.

People from across the state arrived with various requests, ranging from medical assistance to social welfare support. Among them was Rinku Sarkar from Barjala, Agartala, who shared her difficulties in affording her husband’s medical treatment due to financial hardship. The Chief Minister assured her of immediate medical aid and also confirmed that she would receive social welfare benefits through the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education.

Tapas Roy from Moharchhara, Teliamura, appealed for support for his son’s treatment. In response, the Chief Minister promptly contacted the Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital and directed the authorities to review the case and ensure necessary medical arrangements within the state. Similarly, Mahua Roy from Ramnagar, Agartala, received assurance of medical assistance for her daughter.

Others, including Dulal Sen from Dhanpur in the Sonamura subdivision and Milon Pal from Ramnagar, also discussed their issues with the Chief Minister and expressed relief after receiving positive responses and assurances of resolution.

Top officials from various departments were present at the event, including Tapas Roy, Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education; Dr. Tapan Majumdar, Director of Health Services; Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital; Dr. Debashis Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of IGM Hospital; and Dr. Shiromoni Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Centre.
