Industrialist Gautam Adani and his son Jeet Adani visited the residence of late Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg on Sunday evening to offer their condolences and pay tribute to the iconic singer-composer.
Arriving at Garg’s Kahilipara residence around 9 PM, the Adanis were accompanied by senior officials from the Adani Group. The business tycoon laid floral tributes at a memorial setup and spent close to 30 minutes with the bereaved family, consoling Garg’s wife Garima Saikia Garg and other close relatives.
Adani expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Zubeen Garg, calling him a “national treasure” whose contribution to India’s cultural fabric transcended regional boundaries.
“Zubeen Garg was not just an artist of Assam, but a voice that resonated across the nation. His music brought people together. We are deeply saddened by his untimely demise,” Adani reportedly told family members during the visit.
The Adani Group has been expanding its footprint in Assam and the Northeast in recent years, and this visit further highlighted the industrialist's engagement with the region’s cultural and emotional landscape.
Zubeen Garg, widely regarded as one of Assam’s most influential and beloved musicians, passed away suddenly earlier this week, leaving behind a grieving fanbase across India. His death has triggered an outpouring of tributes from across the political, business, and entertainment spectrums.
