The festive spirit is in full swing as Bharat Ratna Sangha, one of Agartala’s most prominent cultural clubs, is set to recreate the iconic Jatoli Shiv Mandir of Himachal Pradesh as its theme for this year’s Durga Puja celebrations.
Known for their artistic grandeur and community participation, Bharat Ratna Sangha is once again aiming to raise the bar. With over 700 active members and enthusiastic support from the local community, the club is promising a visual and spiritual spectacle that blends tradition with creativity.
Speaking on the preparations, Club Secretary Chandan Chakraborty said, “This year, our goal is to bring a piece of Himachal to Agartala. The Jatoli Shiv Mandir is not just an architectural marvel but also a symbol of divine strength — a perfect inspiration for Ma Durga’s abode.”
Chakraborty, who has been instrumental in steering the club's efforts, added that the entire structure is being designed with intricate detailing to mirror the temple’s architecture, including its iconic spires and traditional carvings. The pandal will also feature cultural elements from Himachal Pradesh, offering visitors a truly immersive experience.
Residents of Usha Bazar and nearby areas have shown overwhelming support, both financially and through voluntary service. With the combined efforts of members and well-wishers, Bharat Ratna Sangha is expecting thousands of visitors during the five-day celebration.
The club has also planned a series of cultural programs, traditional rituals, and safety measures to ensure a smooth and joyous celebration for all.
As the countdown to Durga Puja begins, all eyes are on Bharat Ratna Sangha’s themed pandal — a divine fusion of Agartala’s devotion and Himachal’s heritage.
