Minister Sushanta Chowdhury meets Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi
Sep 24, 2025Tripura’s Tourism Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing initiatives and future plans of the state’s tourism department.
During the meeting, Minister Chowdhury presented a detailed overview of various tourism development projects currently underway in Tripura and sought central assistance to accelerate several new initiatives aimed at boosting tourism infrastructure and connectivity in the state.
He highlighted the state government’s vision to transform Tripura into a prominent tourist destination in Northeast India and emphasized the need for financial and administrative support from the central government to realize this goal.
The Union Finance Minister responded positively and assured full cooperation from the central government to support Tripura’s efforts in promoting tourism and attracting both domestic and international tourists.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the Tripura Tourism Department, including the Secretary and Director.
