Two arrested with Drugs worth Rs 2.5 Crore at Churaibari Checkpoint

In a major anti-narcotics operation, Tripura Police on Monday seized a huge consignment of yaba tablets worth around Rs 2.5 crore from a vehicle at the Churaibari checkpoint. Two suspected drug traffickers were arrested in the raid.
The accused have been identified as Raju Uddin of Ratabari and Dilwar Hussain of Patharkandi. Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a vehicle (registration number MZ 01 AA 4524) while it was entering Tripura. During a thorough search, officers discovered 50,000 yaba tablets hidden inside secret chambers of the car.
Police officials said the consignment was sourced from Mizoram and was intended for illegal distribution in Tripura. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the arrested duo will be produced before the Court on Tuesday.
