Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the newly redeveloped Tripureswari Temple in Udaipur, located in Tripura’s Gomati district. The historic temple, considered one of the 51 revered Shakti Peethas, holds immense religious and cultural significance.
During his visit, the Prime Minister offered prayers at the centuries-old shrine, which was originally built in 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, a prominent ruler of the Manikya dynasty.
The redevelopment project, undertaken under the Central Government’s PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme, was completed at a cost of ₹52 crore. The initiative aims to modernize pilgrimage sites by enhancing infrastructure, improving facilities for devotees, and promoting religious tourism.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Tripura Governor N. Indrasena Reddy, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Members of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb and Rajib Bhattacharjee, State Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, and senior government officials.
A large number of devotees and locals gathered at the temple complex to witness the occasion and catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. The atmosphere was charged with devotion and celebration
