CM Dr. Manik Saha Declines to Comment on Dearness Allowance Hike

Amid growing anticipation among government employees regarding a possible hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday refrained from making any definitive statement on the matter.

Speaking to media persons after attending a blood donation camp at the Agartala Press Club, Dr. Saha said, “When a decision is taken, it will be communicated through the proper channels. As of now, no conclusive decision has been made. Since the matter is still under consideration, it would be wise not to comment on it.”

The blood donation camp was organised by the BJP’s OBC Morcha to commemorate the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speculation regarding a DA hike has been gaining momentum in recent weeks, with employee unions urging the state government to make an announcement ahead of the festive season. However, the Chief Minister’s remarks suggest that a final decision is yet to be reached.
